About Jon Kirby

The year was 1995, Jon was drunk and at the NME Brat Awards, the 20 minute cycle had kicked in and a visit to the gents was required. With only two urinals in this tiny bog, Jon was relieved to find one was available, at the other stood Noel Gallagher emptying his bladder. A nod, a wink, a manly “alright” and their friendship was carved in stone. They talk fondly of the incident, apart from Noel who never mentions it.

At the time Jon was a boardsman, playing, writing, and producing music from a recording studio in Darlington with all kinds of bands.

Some got deals, some didn’t, some got in the charts, some didn’t. Some paid Jon his royalties, some didn’t.

As for the touring, we’ll what went on tour stayed on tour as he can’t remember much of it.

He wrote songs for, and played boards for and arranged orchestras for and produced for a zillion bands most of which no-ones ever heard of but some you definitely have.
